Supporting our students as they transition from grade-to-grade and building-to-building is very important to the staff of Milan Area Schools and we would like to know how you feel about our transition activities, events, and supports. Please take time to provide us with your feedback by taking a brief (5 minute) survey.
If you have more than one child, you can complete the survey multiple times (once for each student) or you may choose to take the survey once and select multiple grade levels on the first question.
Please be assured that your responses to this survey are anonymous. Your honest opinion is appreciated. The survey will close on Friday, May 26th.
We care about our students and want to keep them safe. Please be prepared to present identification when picking up a child.

Parents are encouraged to create an account to follow their student's progress in their classes. Parents will need a unique access code for each student, which is being sent home in a letter that will arrive in the mail soon. Please see the links below for registration assistance and helpful resources. The website for Milan's access to Schoology is www.milan.schoology.com.

Milan High School Peer-to-Peer team members, in conjunction with the Rachel Upjohn Depression Center at the University of Michigan, are sponsoring activities to create awareness around the important topic of adolescent depression. The development of this program at MHS is a foundational element within the proactive culture of support that the Peer-to-Peer team members create for our students. For a description of the program and a list of resources, please see the links below.
MHS was honored by the Michigan Department of Education as a Reward School in 2013 for being among the top 5% in academic improvements compared to all other schools in the state. Improvement is measured by performance on the Michigan Merit Exam (MME) compared to a trend of the three previous years. MHS demonstrated greater one-year improvements compared to all other high schools within the Washtenaw Intermediate School District on each area of the ACT assessment, an integral component to the MME. Milan High School is very proud of this accomplishment and will continue steadfast efforts to maintain it four-year trend of academic growth. For more information, contact MHS Principal, Mr. Shinn.

A new school year is exciting but it can also be costly. If you find yourself having a difficult time paying for your children's school supplies you are not alone. United Way has graciously collected school supplies for our families in need. You can pick them up at the Middle School Guidance office Tuesday, August 30th, from 6:00-7:30 PM. If you have any questions about this or have other needs, please contact, Holly Fiedler, MMS Social Worker at firstname.lastname@example.org
If you have a student interested in participating in athletics, please note: MHSAA requires all athletes to have a current (dated April 15th or sooner of the current year) doctor's physical on file BEFORE any participation.
