Milan High School
A Michigan REWARD School!

MHS was honored by the Michigan Department of Education as a Reward School in 2013 for being among the top 5% in academic improvements compared to all other schools in the state. Improvement is measured by performance on the Michigan Merit Exam (MME) compared to a trend of the three previous years. MHS demonstrated greater one-year improvements compared to all other high schools within the Washtenaw Intermediate School District on each area of the ACT assessment, an integral component to the MME. Milan High School is very proud of this accomplishment and will continue steadfast efforts to maintain it four-year trend of academic growth. For more information, contact MHS Principal, Mr. Shinn.

MHS on College Board Honor Roll

Milan Area Schools is 1 of 15 Michigan School Districts (425 school districts in the U.S. and Canada) being honored by the College Board with placement on the 6th Annual AP® District Honor Roll for increasing access to AP course work while simultaneously maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher on AP Exams.

School Supplies

A new school year is exciting but it can also be costly. If you find yourself having a difficult time paying for your children's school supplies you are not alone. United Way has graciously collected school supplies for our families in need. You can pick them up at the Middle School Guidance office Tuesday, August 30th, from 6:00-7:30 PM. If you have any questions about this or have other needs, please contact, Holly Fiedler, MMS Social Worker at

If you have a student interested in participating in athletics, please note: MHSAA requires all athletes to have a current (dated April 15th or sooner of the current year) doctor's physical on file BEFORE any participation.
