Requirements for Unvaccinated Students

Michigan law requires that every 7th Grader and every new student entering school be immunized against specific diseases. Parents/guardians that choose to waive these requirements must go to the local health department for a discussion regarding vaccines. Then the health department will issue a non-medical waiver. Waivers need to be delivered to Milan Middle School by Monday, August 21, 2017.

Medical waiver forms can be obtained from school and must be signed by your studentís physician. They can also be found at www.michigan.gov/immunize.

The Washtenaw County Health Department number is 734-544-6700.
The Monroe County Health Department number is 734-240-7800.

Milan School Age Child Care
What do your middle school students do after school before you get home from work? Did you know that MMS has an after school program for 6-8 graders? Milan School Age Child Care offers programs at both Paddock and Symons Elementary Schools. Our middle schoolers are bused to Symons after school and go to our child care room there. Room C58. We are open until 6:15 p.m. daily. This is a great place to get homework done, socialize with friends and just have some time to hang out in a safe environment. Students get a daily snack, have time for projects, games, inside gym time, & outside playground time. They cost is only $9.00 a day. You can register for just 2 days a week up to 5 days a week. Call 439-5159 for more information or go to the Milan Area School Web site and look under the child care tab.
If you have a 7th or 8th grade student interested in participating in athletics, please note: MHSAA requires all athletes to have a current (dated April 15th or sooner of the current year) doctor's physical on file BEFORE any participation.
